1978: Military Service in the Italian Army;
1979: Technical employee at the Tycon SpA (S. Donà di Piave);
1980–1982 Teacher of “Impianti Chimici e Chimica Industriale” at the Istituto Tecnico Industriale Statale “A. Pacinotti” (Mestre);
1982-1987: Researcher of the Italian National Council of Researches (CNR) at the Institute of Chemistry and Technology of Radio Elements of Padova;
1984: Visiting Scholar at the Chemistry Department of the Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois – US), under the supervision of prof. Tobin J. Marks;
